It took a leap of faith, twice over, for Jaxen Crabtree to find the success that had proved elusive.
Step one in Crabtree’s path was opting to get knee surgery last year in hopes of alleviating chronic pain caused by Osgood-Schlatter disease . Then, after losing most of two football seasons, he decided on a change of scenery by transferring to Seton Catholic from Union for his senior year.
Those were two major decisions Crabtree made, and in retrospect, he knows without a doubt they were the right ones.
Eleven weeks into his first full-time varsity football season, Crabtree is finally healthy, playing the game he loves while settling into a new home at Seton.
The Cougars will face La Center on Saturday in Camas in the first round of the 1A state playoffs.
