MADISON, Wis. -- QTS, the company planning to build a data center in the DeForest area, on Friday announced a $1.5 million partnership with UW-Madison.
The money will go towards a new research initiative focused on data center sustainability.
"We believe in the power of innovation that stems from industry and academia partnerships," QTS chief investment officer Madison Williams said. "The insights gained from this research initiative are essential to shaping our next generation of sustainable digital infrastructure."
QTS said 14 research projects will receive support covering areas including sustainable land use, ecology and energy systems. The company, which is headquartered in Virginia, has data centers around the U.S. and the Netherlands.
