MINNEAPOLIS — A woman who was sexually abused by her Twin Cities figure skating coach as a child was awarded $12.5 million by a jury after filing a lawsuit against her abuser and several skating entities.

The lawsuit was filed by the victim, now 24, in 2023 under the name Jane Doe. In it, the plaintiff detailed allegations against the defendant, former coach Thomas Incantalupo, several Twin Cities skating clubs, and the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA).

Incantalupo was sentenced to 24 years in prison in 2019 after pleading guilty to multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct.
