LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A growing number of University of Kentucky law students are becoming CASA volunteers , with one student saying the experience has enhanced her legal education.
Hadley Christensen, a second-year UK law student, has served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for almost a year. Before law school, she worked as a foster care case manager.
“I had kind of had that exposure working with the kids in the foster care system, and I really enjoyed being able to be hands-on and working with them,” Christensen said.
Her previous experience led her to CASA, where she wanted to apply her social care training to help children in the system.
