Students at schools on the Hamilton Mountain are being offered mental-heath supports after a crossing guard was struck by a truck and killed at an intersection near Lime Ridge Mall on Thursday.
The 52-year-old man was on his way to work when he was struck by the large truck carrying dirt around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Mohawk Road East and Upper Wentworth Street, police said on Thursday.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and is co-operating with investigators, Const. Adam Kimber previously said.
Police did not share any additional details and declined to identify the victim when reached on Friday morning.
