The New York Yankees have an important offseason ahead of them, and Cody Bellinger's future is a major talking point. The star opted out of his deal, entering free agency. General manager Brian Cashman has made his stance on the former MVP very clear.
“We’re very interested in bringing him back,” Cashman said of Bellinger, per USA Today's Bob Nightengale. “He’s going to have a lot of choices because he can do a lot of different things. ... We would be better served if we could retain him. If not, we’ll have to look at alternative ways to fill it."
This is not the first time the Yankees have expressed their desire to bring back Bellinger. Cashman had a similar sentiment in his end-of-season press conference . Bellinger also noted that he would "absolutely" consider re-signing with the
