PAINESVILLE, Ohio — Painesville Speedway, the self-proclaimed “World’s Toughest Motorsports Battleground,” is set to undergo a major leadership transition as longtime driver and three-time NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track champion Scott Skufca takes over operations for the 2026–2028 seasons.
The Skufca family has signed a multi-year lease-option agreement to manage the historic 1/5-mile oval, marking a return to the track’s roots under a figure many fans consider synonymous with Painesville racing.
Skufca, who has raced at the speedway for 40 years, said his family plans to revive the facility’s atmosphere and energy, echoing the track’s heyday under former promoter Gordon Allen.
