A tractor was destroyed and its driver injured in a collision with a train in west-central Minnesota on Thursday.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office says the collision was reported on a freight line northwest of Henning, with a 67-year-old Henning man suffering minor injuries.

Police say the driver was east on 290th Street approaching the railroad crossing when he saw a Canadian Pacific train heading south. The driver was unable to stop, however, with the two vehicles colliding at the crossing.

The driver of the tractor was transported to Perham Hospital for treatment on his injuries, the extent of which were not revealed.
