Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman said the Northeast is showing strong readiness in skills, training and enthusiasm, placing the region in a favourable position for new-age industries. She made the remarks while inaugurating the Students Advancing Mindsets in AI, Robotics, Technology and Digital Hardware (SAMARTH) initiative at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology in Kohima.

The Union minister toured an exhibition that featured innovations by startups and students, and also visited the India AI Lab and the R and D Cyber Forensics Lab where she interacted with students and faculty members.
