Members of the terror group being investigated for the deadly blast near the Red Fort used an unusual but effective way to communicate and avoid being caught — by saving unsent emails as drafts. Investigators say the suspects, including Dr Umar Un Nabi, who is believed to have driven the car that exploded, and his associates Dr Muzammil Ganaie and Dr Shaheen Shahid, all used a single email account.
Instead of sending emails, they saved them as drafts. The person meant to read the message would log into the same account, read the draft, and delete it right away, leaving no digital trace, according to police. This method was chosen to avoid surveillance and keep their conversations hidden, since nothing was sent over networks.
