KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs said Friday the county’s Richard L. Bean Juvenile Detention Center is on the right track. It comes after the center’s interim director, Brian Bivens, abruptly quit the job after just a few months, saying the center is “not safe, nor is it secure.”
“With help from the Knox County Health Department, HR and Benefits, and Finance, the current leadership at the facility has done a tremendous job of addressing these, and many other, deficiencies,” Jacobs said.
