AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a rape suspect.

Christopher Thompson, 40, is wanted in connection with a rape that occurred in Augusta.

He is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.

Thompson is known to frequent the areas of Old Louisville Road, Lumpkin Road, and the 3200 block of Mike Padgett Highway.

Augustans show gratitude to Helene recovery volunteers

Augusta leaders and the community came together to thank volunteers who are assisting in restoration projects after Hurricane Helene.
