The Valley Forge Military Academy is closing in one week, the school announced on Friday.

According to a letter sent to families by the academy's chairman, Gray Beck, the school will officially be closed on Friday, Nov. 21 while only staying open to seniors.

Chairman Beck explained that the decision comes after enrollment has dropped and staffing has been hard to maintain.

"By focusing our resources on the senior class, we can preserve academic continuity for those preparing to graduate while maintaining the high standards that define the Valley Forge experience," Beck wrote.

The academy plans to work with members of the underclass cadets to help them find their next steps once the school shuts down.
