EUGENE, Ore. - The Egan Warming Centers are gearing up for the 2025-26 season with reduced funding but a steadfast commitment to providing shelter.

According to St. Vincent de Paul of Lane County (SVdP), the program's budget has been cut by 50 percent due to a state directive to reduce spending for shelter sites. The agency plans to use the Lane Events Center as a primary site when available and has established two additional sites in Eugene and Springfield. Each new site can accommodate 100 guests.

"Egan Warming Centers are the last stop for so many with nowhere else to go," said Bill Barnard, SVdP's director of operations.
