Acadia Healthcare has agreed to pay $179 million to settle a previously disclosed lawsuit filed on behalf of St. Clair County Employees’ Retirement System, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
The suit involved a period of investor stock purchases from April 30, 2014, to Nov. 15, 2018, and alleged that officials of the Franklin-based behavioral health care services company sold stock after making misleading business statements, as reported by the Post .
The case had been scheduled for trial; however, the trial was cancelled Nov. 7 when the court was notified of the settlement agreement. The settlement will fully resolve the case with no admission of guilt or finding of liability by Acadia or any of its former or current officers.
