Vancouver religious groups joined in front of the Clark County Courthouse on Thursday for an interfaith prayer service dedicated to undocumented immigrants.
Catholic, Buddhist, Methodist, Lutheran and Unitarian faith leaders and members of their congregations gathered by candlelight to pray, sing hymns and share words of hope.
The service, hosted by Parish Family 45 , coincided with the feast day of St. Frances Cabrini, the first U.S. citizen declared a saint and patron saint of immigrants.
Parish Family 45 combines three Catholic churches in Vancouver — Our Lady of Lourdes, St. James and St. Joseph. Carol Boyden, along with Dave Griffin and Charlene Stapleton, organized the event as a part of St. Joseph’s life, justice and peace organization.
