Boil water order issued for Lake Egypt Water District customers

MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Lake Egypt Water District issued a boil water order for all customers in Egypt Hills, from Sisk Road, going west to Hunts Resort and all adjoining side roads.

Residents are encouraged to boil water for safety until further notice.

The CDC recommends bringing water to a full rolling boil for one minute, or three minutes at elevations above 6,500 feet. Then allow the water to cool before using it.

When washing hands with tap water during a boil water order, it's recommended to use soap and water, then using alcohol-based hand sanitizer and let them air dry.
