KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knox County District Attorney General's Office said it obtained a 16-year sentence against a Maryville man who stabbed three people at a bar in Bearden on New Year's Day 2024.
Shawn Edward Hatcher, 50, was convicted of two counts of aggravated Assault, assault and unlawful possession of a weapon
According to prosecutors, Knoxville police responded to a 911 call at Brickyard Bar and Grill on Homberg Drive. Officers learned Hatcher had been flirting with a woman who asked him to stop touching her. Another woman told Hatcher to leave her alone. As the woman was leaving with her friends, prosecutors said Hatcher punched and stabbed her.
Two men tried to intervene, and they were also stabbed and cut. Prosecutors said Hatcher fled down Homberg Drive while the victims
