A Gerlach school employee was arrested this week following an investigation into reports of inappropriate conduct involving a student, according to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said it received initial information about the alleged conduct on Monday, Nov. 10. Detectives began investigating in coordination with Gerlach K-12 School officials and identified the suspect as 44-year-old Isreal Cruz-Gonzalez, a Gerlach resident.
Cruz-Gonzalez was arrested without incident in Gerlach on Thursday, Nov. 13 and booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility. He faces one count of sexual conduct between certain school employees or volunteers and a pupil.
