Minnesota State Patrol no longer lists alcohol as a factor in the crash that led to the death of an off-duty St. Cloud police officer.

Ryan Ebert, 44, of Big Lake, sustained severe injuries when his Dodge Ram pickup rear-ended a bus on northbound Highway 77 in Apple Valley at around 10 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13.

Ebert, an officer with the St. Cloud Police Department, died at Hennepin County Medical Center on Oct. 18.

An initial crash report from Minnesota State Patrol listed alcohol use by Ebert as a factor in the crash, something both St. Cloud PD and Ebert's family disputed.

On Oct. 30, the crash report was updated to no longer list alcohol as a factor, as first reported by the Minnesota Star Tribune.
