IVA, S.C. —
Two dogs have been surrendered and their owner has been charged after an attack left a man seriously injured in Iva, South Carolina.
On Thursday evening, the Iva Police Department received a call about a man yelling in the street.
The responding officer found a man attempting to chase two large dogs out of a yard and another man, who was injured, lying on the ground in the yard.
The officer called for a priority one EMS response, and applied pressure to the most severe wound until EMS arrived. Once stabilized, the victim was airlifted to Greenville.
Officers learned that the dogs had escaped despite being confined by fencing. The dogs were confirmed to be up-to-date with vaccinations, and were surrendered by their owner. The dogs were then taken into the custody of Anderso
