DEAR JANET: I'm an inexperienced gardener, but learning how to take care of my newer, expanding garden. I learned a long time ago that if you cut off the top of a pineapple and plant it, it would grow. Three and a half years ago I did that and here is my pineapple plant. When is the pineapple ready to harvest? Plus shows what I think they call "pups" of the plant? How do I take care of the plant once I harvest the pineapple?
