Delhi Police has appealed to travellers to reach key transport hubs well ahead of time as security is stepped up across the National Capital following a deadly explosion near Red Fort.

In a public advisory, the force asked rail passengers to arrive “at least one hour before the scheduled departure of their trains”, Metro users to reach stations “at least 20 minutes before the scheduled departure of the Metro”, and international flyers to be at the airport “at least 3 hours before the scheduled international flight.”

Officials said the guidance aims to ensure smoother security checks, minimise congestion and prevent last-minute delays as screening protocols become more rigorous at major railway stations, Metro stations and Delhi airport.
