The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued major cold-wave alerts for parts of central India, but dry conditions are prevalent across most of northwest and central India. The southeast of India continues to keep an eye on the likelihood of rain and thunderstorms, while much of the north, west, and central regions prepare for cold-wave pockets or foggy mornings.

Central and East India: Cold-wave alerts

Cold-wave to severe cold-wave conditions are predicted for isolated areas in western and eastern Madhya Pradesh, as well as parts of Chhattisgarh, today and throughout the weekend.
