MARION COUNTY, Fla. – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert on Friday stating that all 911 and non-emergency phone lines are currently down.

Residents needing emergency assistance are urged to text 911 from their mobile devices. The sheriff’s office emphasizes that calling will not connect you to help at this time.

Emergency responders are actively working to restore phone service.
