SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Voting is one of the most important rights for American citizens, and ensuring the results are accurate is essential for each election.

That’s why the County Commissioner of Elections conducted a post-election audit at the Woodbury County Courthouse on Friday morning.

Following elections, the Secretary of State chooses a precinct to audit to confirm that the votes were tabulated correctly by the machines on election day.

For the General Election held on November 4, the audit board counted ballots from precincts 26 and 27 by hand.

“So, we have multiple individuals counting the same stack,” said Woodbury County Commissioner of Elections Michelle Skaff. “So if you see some of the footage, we have one person count 25 ballots, they pass it to the next person to count 25;
