RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Raleigh resident Johnnie Thomas spent the Thursday overnight checking his EBT account. By 6 a.m. in the morning, money finally hit his account.

SNAP benefits were restored Friday nearly two weeks after they lapsed because of the government shutdown.

Even though he now has money in this account, Thomas says he's still dealing with a lot of anxiety.

"Now we always going to think 'Is this going to happen again? Is this going to happen again?'" said Thomas.

He showed Eyewitness News how much was deposited into his EBT account . Thomas is getting about $110 each month for food.

He's grateful the benefits were restored now that the government shutdown is over.
