Convicted Arizona serial killer Cleophus Cooksey Jr. was sentenced to multiple prison terms for robberies, kidnappings and an attempted sexual assault tied to his 2017 crime spree. The sentencing comes as a jury still decides whether he should be executed for eight murders.

Cooksey sat shackled in Maricopa County Superior Court on Nov. 14 as mothers, daughters and relatives of the people he was convicted of killing told the judge how their lives have changed in the nearly eight years since.
