CLEVELAND — Less than a day after a string of car break-ins were reported across the city, the Cleveland Division of Police's new STANCE policing initiative led to the arrest of three juveniles believed to be connected to the incidents, authorities announced Friday.
Police said the arrests came Wednesday, shortly after Chief Annie Todd held a press conference addressing the series of early-morning break-ins. Officers with the STANCE initiative — which launched in late October — saturated affected areas, reviewed evidence and used technology-driven crime analysis to identify possible suspects.
Investigators were alerted later that day to two stolen vehicles believed to be tied to the break-ins. The vehicles were located at a gas station near East 105th Street and Somerset Avenue, a
