GLOBE, Ariz. (AZFamily) — It’s been nearly two months since deadly and destructive flooding hit the Globe-Miami area and another restaurant is back open for business.

La Casita Cafe opened it’s doors to a line of customers at 11 a.m. Friday.

“It’s a dream come true,” said owner Annie Villalobos. “It’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was a child.”

The Mexican restaurant first opened in historic downtown Globe in 1947. It’s been owned by Villalobos’ family since then. While it’s been long, stressful days cleaning up, Villalobos was nervous to open again but was excited to get back on track.
