MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin women's cross country team will head to Columbia, Mo. next week to race for a National Championship.
The Badgers placed second with 95 points at Friday's Great Lakes Regional in Evansville, Ind. Leané Willemse was the top-finishing Badgers, crossing the line in 11th.
Notre Dame was dominant on the day, scoring just 22 points and sweeping the top two spots.
Kylie Finger, Nora Gremban and Sara Mlodik all ran personal bests for Wisconsin. The trio, along with Willemse, earned All-Region honors.
While the women know they're Championship-bound, the Wisconsin men will have to wait before booking a flight to CoMo. They finished third on Friday with 99 points, and will need to receive an at-large bid to secure their place in the Championship race.
