The United Steelworkers will vote on an agreement with Libbey Glass next week, after nearly 12 weeks on strike against the company.
The contract, according to a USW letter to union members, would provide a total wage increase of 24 percent over four years (25.75 percent when compounded). An immediate increase of 14.25 percent and a $3,000 bonus would be awarded after ratification.
According to the letter, the lowest-paid employee would make $2 per hour more upon acceptance of the agreement, and the highest-paid would make $5 per hour more.
Meetings between union members and leadership will take place Wednesday, and a ratification vote will be taken immediately following the explanation sessions.
