The Montana State cross country team concluded its 2025 season on Friday, placing 11th in both races at the NCAA Mountain Regionals as Sam Ells and Madi Siana led the way in 42nd and 43rd place, respectively, at the Salt Lake Regional Athletic Complex.
The women’s team tallied 322 points in the 6K, finishing second among Big Sky Conference teams at the meet. No. 8 New Mexico and No. 1 BYU tallied 45 and 47 points, respectively, to clinch their automatic qualifications for the NCAA Championships as the race’s top two finishers. No. 21 Northern Arizona (76), No. 17 Colorado (106) and No. 22 Utah (120) rounded out the top-five teams in Salt Lake City.
The men’s team followed in the 10K later in the morning, posting 302 points. No. 3 New Mexico and No. 10 BYU also earned the automatic qualif
