WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- The death of 18-year-old Giovanni Pelletier has been ruled an accidental drowning.
The Wake County teen was on vacation when he went missing in Florida back in August.
His body was later found in a retention pond.
A Florida medical examiner made the ruling of an accidental drowning .
The autopsy did highlight a rare heart defect, but the medical examiner could not say if that played a role in his death.
Officials say there is no evidence of trauma or injury and foul play is not suspected.
