Men don’t stress about weather. At least not Will Welch , GQ ’s longstanding editor-in-chief and global editorial director, who was absolutely zen about the threat of an atmospheric river mucking up the mag’s Men of the Year celebration last night.
“I’ve been to some parties in L.A. that had crazy torrential storms, and it becomes like a junior high school party in that once you get to a party with weather like that outside, nobody leaves,” Welch explained to The Hollywood Reporter Thursday morning ahead of the big event while sitting on the terrace at Chateau Marmont, GQ’s Men of the Year headquarters. “We’re moving the red carpet into the garage, which I think will be better than what we originally had planned. It’s going to be fun no matter what happens with the weather.”
