BROWNS SUMMIT — Eli Soderberg’s equalizer in the tenth-minute knotted the score, but second-seeded Belmont Abbey would respond with two goals en route to a 3-1 win over the third-seeded UNC Pembroke soccer team in Conference Carolinas Championship Semifinals action Friday night at Bryan Park, ending the Braves’ season.

Reagan Carr picked up the assist on Soderberg’s goal.

The Braves (10-7-1) fell to 7-4-0 in the all-time series with the Crusaders (15-4-1), but have now dropped three of the last four matchups against Belmont Abbey.

Belmont Abbey’s Caroline Roche connected in the ninth minute with Haley Long, whose centering pass found the foot of Francesca Highton eight yards out, who then buried a one-touch, left-footed strike into the back of the net to give the Crusaders an early 1-0
