The Belleville Senators edged the Utica Comets 4 to 3 in a shootout on Friday.

Xavier Bourgault, Landen Hookey and Arthur Kaliyev scored in regular play while Wyatt Bongiovanni scored the game winner in the shootout.

Neither team scored at all in the first period, before the comets scored back to back unanswered goals in the second. In the third, the Senators bounched back with three goals to take the lead, but the Comets evened the score late in the frame and sent the game to overtime. After a scoreless overtime, the teams entered a shootout, where the Senators emerged victorious in 5 rounds.

The Senators are back in action on Saturday, travelling to face the Syracuse Crunch.
