The Penticton Vees turned in another determined performance Friday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre but came up just short, falling 4–3 in overtime to the Spokane Chiefs.

The loss drops Penticton to 9-7-2-2 on the season.

The Vees opened the scoring six minutes into the first period when Brittan Alstead buried his 10th of the year on the power play. That stood as the lone goal through 20 minutes.

Spokane struck early in the second, tying the game just 1:05 in on a shot that deflected off goaltender Jesse Sanche’s shoulder and fluttered in. The Chiefs then took their first lead three minutes later with a power-play marker from the slot.
