The Wolves brought a record of 4-15-1-0 into the contest, their fourth of six straight home games, after falling 6-3 to the Erie Otters on Friday night. Saginaw was 7-8-3-2 after a 2-1 overtime win over the Barrie Colts on Thursday.

Nathan Villeneuve led the Wolves into the game with 23 points, including a goal on Friday, while Kieron Walton had 22, Chase Coughlan and Alex Pharand 11 each and Rowan Henderson 10.
