No. 9 Notre Dame opened the third quarter Saturday on the road against No. 22 Pitt with a 28-3 lead and got the ball to start the second half.

Pitt kicker Sam Carpenter had a 62-yard kickoff that was returned by Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price, who took off for a 43-yard return to his team's own 46-yard line. But before Price was taken down, he ran past Carpenter, who was on the receiving end of a little stiff-arm from Price.

But Carpenter was relentless, grabbing onto Price in any way he could, but all he could get his hands on was what seemed to be the t-shirt underneath Price's uniform. Still Carpenter held on and went for a wild ride, as Price dragged him around the field before Pitt defensive back Zion Ferguson delivered the play-ending tackle.

"Talk about holding on for dear life," the ESPN broadcast joked while watching the replay.
