MULGA, Ala. —
A robbery suspect sought in Jefferson County has been arrested.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to Mulga Loop Road around 6:30 a.m. Saturday after a man tried to rob residents.
A shot was fired, striking the suspect. Authorities have not said what led to the shooting or who fired the shot.

The sheriff's office said the man ran into a wooded area and could not be found.
Deputies later learned he went to downtown Birmingham, where he was arrested just before 2:30 p.m. near Carraway Boulevard and 7th Avenue North.
He was taken to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound and will be taken to the Jefferson County Jail after he is released.
