BATON ROUGE — LSU football rallied from an early two-touchdown deficit to Arkansas with a sophomore quarterback getting his first start inside Tiger Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 15.
It was bumpy start for LSU quarterback Michael Van Buren and the team after the Razorbacks drove right down on their second drive to take the lead before blocking an LSU punt and returning to go up by two touchdowns off the scoop-and-score.
But the Tigers (6-4, 3-4 SEC) outscored Arkansas (2-8, 0-6) 23-8 the rest of the way as LSU's defense and Van Buren and the offense settled into the game. The Tigers came from behind to edge the Hogs 23-22 and to snap their three-game losing streak. It was Frank Wilson's first win as LSU interim head coach. WHY MICHAEL VAN BUREN OPTED TO FOREGO REDSHIRT TO WIN LSU WIN
