Madeline Dubler looked like she knew where the shots were coming. She didn’t just make saves, in Shawnee’s overtime shootout win over Moorestown -- she was on the spot, waiting for the Quakers’ attempts to come into her hands.

It wasn’t like that, of course. But show some confidence and everyone will know who’s in command.

“I was just looking at their eyes and seeing which way they went,” Dubler said. “And then just being confident in my decisions and not hesitating, whether I went right or left.”

She made one save in each direction and Moorestown put its third shot off the crossbar. Shawnee, No. 14 in the NJ.com statewide Top 20, went 3-for-3 from the spot and earned its third straight South Jersey Group 4 championship.

“I got lucky on that last one,” the smiling junior said.
