A thick layer of smog covered Mumbai on Saturday morning as the air quality remained in the ‘unhealthy’ zone in many areas of the city. The Air Quality Index (AQI) surpassed the 200 mark in several places due to a combination of local pollutants and unfavourable weather. On Saturday morning, the AQI in Mumbai was recorded at 186 at 8 am, according to the private air quality monitoring platform, AQI.in.
Besides Delhi's hazardous pollution , Mumbai's deteriorating air quality has also raised concerns among health experts. The city's overall AQI on Friday morning stood at 226, indicating ‘unhealthy’ air quality.
