PHOENIX — It has been six months since 16-year-old Azriel Lloyd was shot and killed in Mesa . Police just announced the arrests of three people they said are involved in the murder.

18-year-old Bre’on Ballard, 18-year-old Nikko Cartier and 19-year-old Jameeier White were all early persons of interest and were all recently arrested in the case, police said.

"Over the course of the investigation, detectives conducted numerous interviews, executed multiple search warrants across Mesa and other Phoenix-area cities, and recovered several firearms," a statement from Mesa police said. "Various items of evidence were submitted for forensic analysis and testing, which ultimately helped provide some of the additional support needed to move forward with charges."
