MAYFIELD, Pa. — On Saturday, the Saint John's Russian Orthodox Cathedral hosted its 33rd Christmas Bazaar in Lackawanna County .

Guests who stopped by the cathedral in Mayfield were greeted with a range of vendors offering basket raffles, homemade desserts, and food like pierogies, halupki, and clam chowder, and some holiday shopping.

Fr. Nathaniel Sorochka, from St. John's Russian Orthodox Cathedral, said, "Even though we're not brothers and sisters within the church itself, we are still brothers and sisters within the community, and people not only travel just from Mayfield and Jermyn alone, but they travel from 1 hour, 2 hours, and we had a gentleman travel 3 hours away just to come up for the food and see the vendors."

This is the cathedral's largest fundraiser of the year.
