An inflated bubble greeted Tulane fans who headed for homecoming on the Claiborne Avenue side of Yulman Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Better late than never.

The Green Wave’s multisport indoor practice facility, originally was expected to be ready around the beginning of the season, is nearing completion but likely will not be finished until the new year. On Friday, athletic director David Harris provided an update of the progress on the Tulane website.

“We have recently inflated the facility for the first time, which allows for the necessary remaining work to occur,” Harris wrote. “This includes the installation of turf, coaches’ filming cameras, graphics and cleaning of the interior and the exterior of the facility.
