SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating after a 44-year-old man was found dead Saturday night in the First Hill neighborhood.

According to police, bystanders discovered the man near Union Street and Convention Place. Officers said he had obvious head trauma, but the cause and manner of death have not yet been determined, and the case has not been ruled a homicide.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene, which police said is standard protocol when a person is found dead with signs of trauma.
