A woman was fatally stabbed outside of a Shelby apartment in the early morning hours of Nov. 15, according to Shelby Police.
Chief Brad Fraser said officers were called to the 400 block of Seattle Street around 6 a.m. regarding an assault and found a woman lying in the roadway with knife-inflicted injuries.
Maurice Sakhnini, 41, was still on the scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody, according to a news release.He was charged with the following charges:
First Degree Murder
First Degree Kidnapping
First Degree Burglary
Resisting a Public Officer
Fraser said officers attempted to administer lifesaving measures, but the woman was pronounced dead at Atrium-Health Cleveland.
According to the release, Sakhnini is currently being held without bond at the Cleveland County
