A late-night collision between a Tata Sumo and a dumper truck in Budgam’s Palar area in Jammu and Kashmir killed four people and injured seven others, officials said.

The crash took place around 10.30 pm on Saturday, and all nine occupants of the Sumo were taken to a nearby hospital, where four were declared dead on arrival. The victims were identified as 10-year-old Zainab, 40-year-old Nisar Ahmad Rather, 36-year-old Bashir Ahmad Rather, and 60-year-old Khatoon, all residents of Mahwara.

Seven others suffered injuries of varying severity. Zoona Bano, Shah, Gulshan, Tasaduq Hussain, and Raja were shifted to Srinagar’s SMHS Hospital after doctors assessed their condition as serious.
